For this daily prompt I’ve decided to ask my spoon a few questions.
Me: Congratulations on such a long life as a spoon.
Spoon: Thanks. I’m lucky really. A lot of spoons I know haven’t even made it to this far.
Me: Do you ever feel jealous of the fork or knife?
Spoon: Sometimes it just feels like they get more credit than me.
Me: Why do you think this is so?
Spoon: I don’t know. Maybe it’s because people like them better than me. The knife cuts things and the fork picks stuff up.
Me: Fascinating. What do you prefer to scoop more cereal or soup?
Spoon: Soup can kind of get hot sometimes. And I don’t like that. But then again it’s a pain to wake up early to eat cereal.
Me: Is it tough to live with the other spoons in the cabinet?
Spoon: Sometimes. But we are family so I get used to the fights. “Why didn’t I get cleaned as well as you?” “You take up too much room in the cabinet.” Little stuff like that.
Me: Let’s get off what you are known for. What are some things you do in your spare time?
Spoon: I like to listen to classic rock music. And this weekend I am going skiing upstate.
Me: That’s nice. Have anything else you would like to say?
Spoon: Being a spoon isn’t as easy as it seems. But in the end I wouldn’t change it for the world.
Me: You know you’re just a spoon right?
